As the HVAC industry evolves to meet demands for efficiency and sustainability, new technologies and refrigerants are reshaping system design and implementation. This talk explores the latest advancements in heat pump technology, focusing on the Trane/Mitsubishi VRF and domestic hotwater heat pump product lines. The talk will also dive into the current transition to A2L refrigerants, addressing safety, compatibility, and performance implications for these systems. Attendees will gain insights into how these innovations intersect, offering practical strategies for leveraging them in the future as well as the new commercial EmPOWER Maryland incentives for heat pumps and heat pump water heaters and opportunities through the Custom and Building Tune-up programs.
